BIO:

Marita Morris is a Certified Professional Landman with over 32 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.  She created the “Structuring a Deal: Strategy and Technique Seminar” for the AAPL and has presented the full-day seminar in several basins.  She is an Acquisitions Manager at Austin Royalty Partners and holds a Master’s Degree in Communications and Negotiations and a Petroleum Land Management Certification.  Ms. Morris has worked in numerous areas of the industry and specializes in negotiating or mediating between mineral and surface owners and oil companies.  Her forte is in negotiating in difficult and challenging situations.  Ms. Morris was awarded the AAPL Best Member Communication award for her speech and article on “What the Frac are we going to do about it?”, a presentation on ways we in the industry can help educate the public on our standards and practices.  She has worked in several states and abroad and was a frequent guest on the radio show, “Powering America”.
